There are few places in Japan where you can enjoy such a wide variety of natural views. The tour includes excursions to the surrounding lookouts and a short trip to Itoigawa on the Sea of Japan, which is surprisingly close to Hakuba.

Hakuba Village: A Premier Mountain Resort of Japan

Hakuba Village stands as one of Japan’s most distinguished mountain resorts. Having gained international recognition as a venue for the 1998 Nagano Olympics, it has since established itself as a hallowed destination for winter sports, renowned both domestically and internationally.

Whilst Hakuba attracts numerous international visitors during the winter season for its superb skiing, it is equally celebrated as one of Japan’s foremost mountain resorts during the summer months. Indeed, amongst Japan’s myriad mountain retreats, few can rival Hakuba’s extensive selection of observation points and walking trails.

The village’s allure is further enhanced by its rich heritage, including the historic Shionomichi-Chikuni Kaido (Salt Road) and an abundance of natural hot springs. Often likened to Innsbruck or the Tyrol region of Austria, we warmly invite you to savour your stay in Hakuba.

From this spectacular terrace, which appears to float amidst the mountains, one can admire the magnificent Karamatsu-sawa Glacier, officially recognised in 2019.
