Shirakami-Sanchi Exclusive

Meeting Point: Tokyo station

Finish Point: Tokyo station

Recommended Season: April – June

Duration: 4 days

The Shirakami Mountains stretch from south-west Aomori Prefecture to north-west Akita Prefecture. The 130,000 hectares of pristine natural beech forests, which have been largely unaffected by human development, are among the largest in the world and were inscribed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1993 in recognition of their value. The tour stays two nights in the Shirakami Sanchi and visits this precious forest. On a hike around Lake Juniko, the tour will take you to Aoike, which is said to have the most beautiful cobalt blue surface of all the Juniko lakes.
You will also board a local train on the journey from Lake Juniko to Hirosaki, where you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Sea of Japan.

In the Shirakami Sanchi, stay overnight at the hotel closest to Lake Juniko and explore Aoike with a guide

The most popular walking spot in the vast Shirakami Sanchi Mountains is the Lake Juniko area at the foot of the Shirakami Sanchi, which consists of 33 lakes and marshes, named after the 12 large ponds that can be seen while the smaller ponds are hidden in the beech forests. On this tour, you will stay at the Aone SHirakami Lake Juniko Hotel, which is the closest hotel to the Lake Juniko area, and enjoy the beautiful nature of Shirakami, including the Aoike ponds, while walking slowly with a nature guide.
